I was invited to Los Angeles to audition for Simon Cowell’s new show- “America’s Got Talent”…

…on Thursday April 6th at the Los Angeles Sheraton (located at 711 S. Hope St. in downtown L.A.). Because of the confidentiality agreement I signed, I can’t tell you any of the details of the audition, but I can tell you that the new show is being produced by Simon and the producers of American Idol. It will air nationwide on NBC sometime this summer and is open to all ages and all types of talent. Should be interesting as it was a total media circus outside the hotel- on the first day of auditions in the very first city in the US where auditions were to be held. While standing in line- early a.m. outside the hotel- Simon walked right up to me, shook my hand and told me I had a “great shirt” and that I “dressed to impress”! Immediately after that, he shook my brother Ken and his grandson Louie’s hands and told them “Good morning!”. They are both BIG American Idol fans so, as you can imagine, they were blown away! So was I and the audition was a great experience. The staff were very professional and easy to work with- they obviously know what they’re doing and treated everyone with respect. A great day, all in all. Now I’ll just wait for Simon to call me and invite me to the next round…
