Back in the beginning of 2020 I had applied for a grant from Arizona Commission on the Arts that would allow me to attend the Independent Music Awards Conference in New York City that that was scheduled for June of 2020. The competition for the grants was robust but I prevailed and a grant was awarded to me. Unfortunately, the conference in NY was cancelled due to the pandemic and I had to decline the grant (boo hoo) A few months later I was contacted by the Arizona Commission on the Arts and they allowed me to reallocate the grant monies for another purpose (!!). I used the funds to undertake a one-on-one education vis Zoom with an internationally known music promoter. It lasted for the better part of a week and I learned so much… I’ll always be grateful to the Arizona Commission on the Arts for their confidence in me and for helping make a dream come true. ❤️
